Clare
Bell Corner, Market Hill in Clare
The historic market town of Clare retains its picturesque Suffolk character while providing a full range of services for townspeople and surrounding villages. The medieval castle ruins look down upon the town, set amid a beautiful country park beside the River Stour, while the Augustinian Priory and the spectacular parish church are among the architectural gems of west Suffolk.

Linton
River Granta at Linton
One of Cambridgeshire's areas of particular environmental importance with its range of beautiful Tudor buildings, Linton was a flourishing market town in the Middle Ages, and even in the 18th century was the third most important market in Cambridgeshire. It declined and was closed in 1864, but the village retains a wide range of shops and services, a flourishing village college and numerous lively clubs and organisations.
