TWO Haverhill history groups commemorated a combined 60 years of existence with a well-attended joint exhibition at the town's arts centre.
The three-day display in the centre's studio room was organised to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Haverhill Local History Group and the 35th year of Haverhill Family History Group.

Family history group members showed off just some of the interesting facts unearthed by its members as they delved into their ancestral past in an exhibition of almost 100 posters from about 30 contributors that adorned all four walls of the room.

The middle of the room was taken up by thelocal history Group's display that centred on some of the things that were happening in Haverhill in the year the group was founded.

Alan Bumpstead, chairman of Haverhill Family History Group, thanked everyone who contributed to and supported the exhibition.

As part of the two groups' anniversary year celebrations they have organised a performance by The Bumpstead Boys of Ruby And Her Horses at the arts centre on Wednesday, November 27, arriving at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

Tickets cost £5 from Haverhill Arts Centre box office on 01440 714140.
