KEDINGTON reached unchartered territory in the Suffolk Junior Trophy with a 2-0 win at Stoke-by-Nayland to pave themselves a way into the Suffolk Junior Cup last 16.

Lee Phillips struck early in the second half wi
th a curling right-foot shot from the edge of the area which looped into the top corner.

Stuart Nunn then played a ball across the box for Phillips to grab his and Kedington’s second goal, burying the ball under the keeper and into the net.

Stoke by Nayland committed bodies forward later in the game but the defence restricted the hosts to just one meaningful strike on goal.

OFF the back of three vital points at Wratting last weekend, Steeple were determined not to let complacency settle in and got off to the best start possible.

The clock had barely been ticking when Greg Wingate was on hand to dispatch a shot into the top corner.

Even though Sawston got on top, Steeple went 2-0 up when Wingate netted his 13th goal of the season.

Third goal of the game came after half time when Mark Harrison. capitalised on a poor clearance from the Sawston keeper and scored from near the halfway line.

TREADFIRST SUDBURY SUNDAY LEAGUE EDAN TROPHY FIRST ROUND

DELAWARE capitulated in their first round Edan trophy match, giving away a three-goal lead to lose to Division Three side SC Sudbury.

Dominating the early exchanges, Angels raced to a 3-0 lead through goals from Lewis Townsend, and two from Matthew Cullen, including a long-range effort.

However, they conceded twice before the break and then netted two more after to throw away their tremendous start.
